Summer Glow

I decided to go for a makeup look great for spring. A neutral eye, along with natural lashes. I also added a light pink lip that's great for darker skin tones. A much needed makeup item for spring and summer is a GREAT highlighter. Out of all the ones I've tried, I always lean back to my elf golden bronzer. I purchased this from target for $3. YESS $3!!! It's very pigmented & would give a great glow for any skin tone.

On my lips are revlon stormy pink along with Maybelline's color vivid lipgloss.

DateNight Fabness

Yesterday was a casual date night. A trip to the mall & to the movies. ( to see X-men, which was kind of a disappointment) So I went with something kind of casual.
A nice skirt, with a nice fitted crop top for the hot weather. Pointed ankle wrap flats to complete the look.

Is "Protective Styling" the EASY route?

Protective styling can be the easy way out of the major hassle of transitioning. I wasn't so lucky of having the easy route through my transition process. I always struggled with the tangling of the relaxed ends. I was never used to my hair being so thick, so when wash day came I was completely lost. I knew then I HAD to protective style! Sewins and braids had become my BESTFRIEND!!! (sew-ins were my fave!) It's crazy how my first time getting any kind of weaves was during my transitioning process & now I AM ADDICTED. I love a good sew-in!
I hope this post is helpful to someone!

Here's a few protective styles I've had below

Spring Pop of BLUE

With the start of this beautiful spring weather, I decided to do a makeup look. I wanted a fun and bright look but wasn't sure of what to go with.
Then I got inspired by a makeup artist on Instagram.
This is the look below

I thought this look was GORGEOUS the moment I saw it, & was determined to somehow recreate the look. Of course it doesn't look as good as hers because I'm NO makeup artist, just a girl who loves to play in makeup.
This is the look I came up with

Good Vibes & Good Brows

Today, was a pretty good day. I was in a pretty good even though this weather has been crazy lately. It's been quite chilly even though it's spring time. Considering I'm in the south, this weather doesn't know what to do. However, today was a good brow day considering I'm letting them grow out. I've been getting them threaded for a year now, & they've become quite thin. I figured since I'm out of school for the summer, I might as well take advantage of the time to let them grow. A bad brow can ruin a day whether you know it or not, so this was a PLUS!

Top: Aeropostale (couple years ago)
Pants: GAP
Shoes: (not seen) GoJane tan wedges
Bag: Michael Kors
Lips: Popular MAC Candy Yum Yum

Hint: I'm protective styling with box braids!

CURLS, CURLS,CURLS

...Growth after BIG CHOP

I started my natural hair journey in March 2013. I began my long transition process for a whole year. March of this year I finally cut all those relaxed ends off! The battle of washing my hair each time was a STRUGGLE! I felt like my hair would win every fight. The relaxed ends always seemed to tangle. For those who transition for more than year, I applaud you! After cutting the ends off, it was such a relief. Being able to see and touch my curls feels amazing! So far it's been two months since the big chop, & I already see growth!
